Strawberry Jam Loaf

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, now is a perfect time for all things sweet! This Strawberry Jam Loaf is just that and with hints of pink and red, it’s a perfect Valentine’s Day treat. You could make this recipe as mini muffins for your little ones or send a dozen of these off to a neighbor or coworker.

I love a fresh loaf of bread out of the oven and I am always trying to find new variations. I found this recipe in my mother-in-law’s recipe box and it sounded too good not to try! The recipe originally comes from my husband’s aunt. Trying new recipes is so fun, especially when you know they are family favorites!

The ingredients for this recipe are so simple and you probably have most of them in your house already! The only things I had to get from the store were cream of tartar and strawberry preservatives. I’m not a huge nut fan, so I didn’t use the optional pecans.

Fun fact: cream of tartar mixed with baking soda makes baking powder! I have no clue why you wouldn’t just be able to use baking powder instead of both baking soda and cream of tartar, but I decided to play it safe and stick to the recipe this time. If any of you are science behind the baking experts, let me know!

This loaf is the perfect amount of strawberry and bread flavor. It’s not overly sweet, it’s just right! This bread is super versatile and you can easily add frosting or butter to your slice of bread, if you’re like me and want a little extra something!

I love fruit and the natural sweetness that comes out when you use it and even though this recipe uses strawberry preserves, it doesn’t taste like processed sugar. It would be a perfect treat for you and your special someone to start off Valentine’s Day. Grab a cup of coffee and snuggle under a blanket with a warm piece of Strawberry Jam Loaf!

  1. This looks SO delicious! Madison, I’m not a fan of nuts either so I would have left them out, too. 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing!

  2. I halved the recipe and made one loaf. Used the jam I had on hand (raspberry). I love this loaf! It’s got a lovely firm texture and delicious, not too sweet flavor. I made a thick glaze with confectioner’s sugar, milk, jam, and a touch of almond flavoring, and poured on top. Allowed to set and it is fabulous!
