Who doesn’t like bacon, cheese and the combination of sweet and salty? This fun appetizer was born on Christmas Eve when we hosted my folks in our home for dinner, presents and our annual tradition of watching The Christmas Story movie.
I needed something fairly simple and quick for my guests to munch on while I finished preparing the rest of the meal. These bacon-wrapped dates fit the bill! They are chewy with a slight crisp around the edges. And the gooey cheese pairs perfectly with the subtle sweetness of the dates. They were a huge hit and will definitely be a staple anytime I host an event again.
