Popcorn Crunch with Leftover Halloween Candy

For Halloween every year, I pick up those big bags with a variety of fun sized candies – like snickers, milk duds, taffy, sweettarts. It’s so hard to get rid of all the candy I end up buying. Looking on the bright side, it’s good that the kids aren’t greedy and don’t think to take more than 2 or 3 pieces. But then my hips and I end up with everything that’s left . . .

This year I had the bright idea to make milkshakes – Snickers milkshakes, SweetTart milkshakes – but then it ended up snowing here in Indiana. I don’t know about you, but ice cream and milkshakes lose a bit of their usual flair once snow hits the ground. So I decided to mix everything together in one of my very favorite snacks . . . popcorn crunch.

As an absolute holiday fiend, what I love most about this recipe is how adaptable it is. I , of course, mean the candy colors change with the seasons. M&M’s, candy corn, and orange, red, and green syrups are a must! This little snack is nothing if not festive. Don’t you love it when food is multipurpose – keep the kids busy, decoration and delicious!?
